What are you doing with your summer?

I’ve always loved to travel. For this summer, our first vacation was to Disney World.  We spent the trip with two of my closest friends exploring all four parks-Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. We even were able to go to Universal Studios.

AK_BRDGBTM_20160615_7716921889

We ate our hearts out at Cinderella’s Castle, a restaurant inside the famous castle with most of the classic Disney princesses who come to your table while you  eat (!), Les Chef de France in Epcot, a restaurant for anyone who considers their self a Francophile or just someone who loves classic French dishes, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, a drive-in movie themed restaurant with vintage car-shaped booths that had the most amazing milkshakes, as well as several other fast food grub stops. Cam made practically all of our reservations.

In total we walked about 80 miles during our week trip! Crazy right? Helped us be able to eat whatever the hell we wanted though! We met Kylo Ren, who literally scared me so hard that I couldn’t get too close to him. He just kept staring me down… Every picture above is from Disney World except the Hello Kitty car. That was definitely taken in Universal.

This entire summer Cam and I have been trying to keep things fresh in our relationship by having vacations, but not everyone can afford them. Like most people for us it takes time, money, and effort to determine if a vacation is even possible. No matter what, we have determined that we want to make this summer about going out more often (GOMO) whether it is a quick vacation or an event in Downtown Austin. Spending money on experiences rather than material items helps create something you can always take with you, memories.

My friends at Eventbrite are here to help support local event creation in your local area for individuals like yourself. At Eventbrite they are all about GOMO this summer!  You can find a ton of exciting events by searching their site and they have a huge assortment of tools to help support local event creation in your area like online RSVP features. It’s time to get off your computer and go do something fun now!

Red Blouse & Short Floral Skirt on Black Canvas #OOTD

Wearing: Blouse  | Banana Republic, Skirt | Urban Outfitters, & Wedges | Lucky Brand

These clothes I am wearing are about 3-4 years old! Crazy how amazing they still look, right? Maybe not. Maybe you hate them. Eh, everyone is entitled to opinions.

20160528-IMG_2743

This top has always been one of my favorites! The details on the top portion are to die for! It’s modest (i.e., non-slutty), yet almost always brings strangers attentions to your chestle region (i.e., boobs). I told my husband I would eventually talk about boobs on the blog. So their ya go folks.

20160528-IMG_2725

This skirt is short! It’s short on my and I am 5 ft tall. I come from a family of little people. Not actual little people, but hispanics. That’s if you can believe that. Now I am not saying that all hispanics are short, but if you are from my family, you are short. Period.

20160528-IMG_2728

This skirt will fit my much better once I start back in my routine of making most of my food and going spinning. This week I have just started a new job and have been so tired everyday from it! Plus we are so excited to finally be able to go on vacation next week! Very necessary. I feel like a corpse with zero energy.

GLOSSYBOX for May 2016

20160519-IMG_2559

GLOSSYBOX is hands down one of the best cosmetic subscription boxes. The packaging is so worth it. It straight up makes me feel like I am rich. This is only my second month of receiving this gem. I love getting a box filled with surprises each month. I am lucky enough to receive this box thank to my wonderful husband for getting me a gift that keeps on giving (he got this for my for Valentine’s Day!).

20160519-IMG_2563

You may be wondering why I am posting my May GLOSSYBOX at the beginning of June. I decided for any future GLOSSYBOXs I receive, I want to try out every product, and tell you which ones I love, hate, or are just meh. So far I definitely have some favorites.

20160519-IMG_2568

So far my favorite product is also the most expensive product. Don’t you just love how that always seems to happen?!

Favorite product: Adore  CELLMAX Elite Facial Serum | Found Here | SO DAMN AMAZING! Iuse it under my eyes (for tiny little wrinkles) as well as my neck wrinkles (not sure if you should use it under your eyes, but it seems really gentle for me and seems to gradually be working), it feels like heaven on your skin!

Like products

  • Rituals Zensatation Foaming Shower Gel | Found Here | smells incredible & is organic
  • Nioxin System 3 Cleanser | Found Here | smell amazing, cleanses well
  • TALIKA Photo-Hydra Day Moisturizer | Found Here | moisturizes well and is “clear” skin approved! (none of the ingredients cause acne or flair-ups for me, someone very prone to acne)

Meh/”not worth it” products

  • Nixon System 3 Scalp Therapy Conditioner | Found Here | not that good, especially for tangly hair)

20160519-IMG_2567

The only product I haven’t tried yet is the Benefit’s Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascascara (Found Here). I tried it before sometime in high school or college, but I remember not liking too much. Most likely because I really sucked with doing my mascara back then. I’ll give it a try soon and let you guys know in the near future!

Biscuit Paint Wall Boho #OOTD Houston, TX

Oh hey guys!

Finally the rain stopped for a second on Saturday while we were in Houston for Memorial Day Weekend. In Austin and throughout Texas, it has been flooding like mad crazy. So as quick as we could, we dashed out with the camera to take some photos of my amazing “music festival-esk” ensemble. It was so pretty,  but humid as hell.

20160528-IMG_2581 PS Version

Cam and I found this colorful painted wall (#biscuitpaintwall) and decided it would be the perfect backdrop. I love the outfit I’m wearing. Earrings are from The Blaine Collection. The top is an essential for a music festival, boho themed party, or any party involving 60s-70s music and some form of smoking. The back of the top has an opening down the middle (that’s what she said). I just had to say it. We were all thinking it. The top is pretty, but my arms couldn’t be moved as much due to my arm flab. My arms are my one area of my body I wish I could change. Always have hated them more than any other part of my body. Working on making them firmer so I can fit better into my clothes/lose weight/look fabulous.

Growing Succulents: How to Guide-ish

20160520-IMG_2571

20160520-IMG_2577

20160520-IMG_2574

We actually won this cactus for free at East Austin Succulents! We ended up buying a ton, and they let us spin on their Wheel of Fortune. We landed on the label, “free cactus under $5”. I had no idea it would sprout such pretty flowers. A dainty surprise. Even more so when I saw the large ass wasp on it while trying to take photos.

Since I have left most of my succulents outside my apartment, I have found they thrive more. However, I realized that 1 or 2 of them actually died…what the hell…right? I thought if most of my succulents and cacti were outside that they for sure stay alive.

Apartment Therapy helped me find my missing piece to my succulent dilemma. They found these people (Sage Market + Design) who specialize in succulents and know all about these little green gremlins. These badasses solved my green killing problem. Succulents with a purple and/or orange tinge prefer the outdoors (i.e., patio, deck). On the other hand, succulents that are really very green will do better indoors. The succulents that died outside were deep green. Watson, I think we solved our problem!

Some information I also picked up from my local nursery include: if the succulent is bought from darker lite area within the nursery and you want to place it in a very lite room or outside area, do it slowly over time, not abruptly. It can cause “shock” to your growing babies.

I will take way better pictures of my succulent family once we move into a better place. If you guys saw my apartment right now, you would straight up stop following me. #toomuchshit

#OOTD Walking Around Deep Eddy Austin, TX

Wearing: Super Floral Addict Dress (Link) from the Stay Fierce Boutique

Guys, I have been posting so many outfits because I am just waiting for some of our photography equipment to arrive. When all that jazz arrives, I’ll be able to take more photos and videos of the beauty and skincare products that rock my socks off. For today, I decided to take an outing to walk around Town Lake in Austin. The weather had bits and pieces of sunlight and so we decided to try and take some photos while we had the opportunity to since it’s been raining like a bitch.

20160517-IMG_2449

This dress is stunning and comfy! So damn comfy! I was a little a afraid of my boobs popping out, but they didn’t. THANK THE LORD.

How I Ombre My Hair.

Currently, I am growing my hair out because I always love changing my hair length up. I hope to have it mid-length. Not too long and not too short. I suffer from dreadful tangles, especially due to my ombre dye job. That makes the lower section of my hair especially prone to tangles due to the dryness factor involved when dyed.

20160430-IMG_0563

People think my hair is dyed professionally, but it’s far from that. I get my hair dyed at a school. Yep you heard that right! A fucking hair school. I specifically go to the Paul Mitchell School. The biggest reason I go to a school for my dye jobs is because I have always been poor. I try to find the best tricks in order to get the most bang for my style. The biggest cons to schools is that every time you go in, expect to spend 3-6 hours getting your hair done and you never know WHO you are going to get. You can pay a little extra to get a student who is about to graduate, but I always just take the gamble and try to get the cheapest person. They also make you sign and initial your life / hair away to cover their own asses because some people take their hair very seriously. But if you aren’t satisfied, you can always come back and it’s free! Praise Jesus! I always become impatient when I get my hair dyed there though. But, that’s the “price” you pay or at least that’s what I do to get my hair dyed on a dang budget.

South Congress Austin,TX

Wearing: Topshop Sleeveless Blouse, Topshop Wide-Leg Pants (Similar), Bass Flat Sandals, Kate Spade Cross Body

On Friday the 13th, one of my favorite days and numbers, Cam and I decided to go to South Congress, or SoCo. Anyone who is from Austin knows that SoCo can be daunting to finding parking, but once you find that glorious spot, you will sure feel like a damn winner. It’s totally worth it! Ahhh the amazing shops, eateries, and other niche places. The pants I wore totally look like pajama pants, but they were so freeing and breezy.

20160513-IMG_2330

20160513-IMG_2331

20160513-IMG_2345

And of course we took a picture in front of the famous “i love you so much” graffiti art work. Plus their was no line. So we thought, “why not?!”

20160513-IMG_2354

20160513-IMG_2366

I have always wanted to stay at Hotel San Jose. It looks like one large bungalow house mixed with mid-century furniture and clean esthetic style throughout the hotel. I sometimes walk through it and pretend that I am a tourist! Redic I know…

20160513-IMG_2369

20160513-IMG_2370 copyPlus they are patterned, so that’s a hardcore plus! I live for patterns. A weird rule, though, of mine is: never wear two pieces of clothing with patterns of color that touch. Hence, that’s why I wore a top that is a light cream tone on top of the bright flowy PJ pants of mine.  Besides that, fashion rules to me don’t exist. I also refuse to wear animal prints (I wish that pattern would just die-cheetah, leopard, etc. Just thinking of it literally makes me cringe! Ahh! The madness!

The weather was perfect and so is my photographer.

These heels are so comfy. They fit nicely especially for a gal with wide feet. The jeans are comfy, skinny, and form fitting in all the right places! I just need to lose s bit more weight around my hips for them to fit better.

How to Separate Those Devil Eyelashes

When I was about 14, I tried using an eyelash comb, but the bristles were plastic and super thick (that’s what she said!) Let’s fast forward through some awkward, tough times and I decided that mascaras themselves just weren’t “separating” the way they said advertised. So I took this madness into my own hands and got myself a Tweezerman Eyelash Comb, and I about died of amazingness. 20160503-IMG_0806

This thing separates, separates, and separates! Its sharp though. Use a steady hand and don’t poke your eye because I did that once and it hurt like a massive bitch.
